Privacy Policy

We process the data you give us yourself (name, contact details, address, property characteristics and consumption), the technical data about your connection that we receive from your grid operator (EAN code, meter readings, consumption profiles) and limited data about your visit to our website (IP address, pages visited, cookies). We use it to answer your request, to manage your contract, supply and invoicing, to provide customer service and warranty, and to meet our legal obligations. The legal basis is the performance of your contract, a legal obligation or your consent — which you can withdraw at any time. We do not use your data for automated decision-making with legal effects.

Within NRGEA only the employees handling your file have access to your data. Suppliers that process data on our behalf (hosting, e-mail, accounting, CRM) do so only for their service and under a data processing agreement. To perform your contract we pass the necessary data to your grid operator and, where applicable, to the VREG or your previous energy supplier. We never sell your data to third parties.

We keep customer files for as long as your contract runs and for up to ten years afterwards, as Belgian accounting law requires. Cookies and analytical data are kept for a maximum of thirteen months; job applications for six months. We never keep more data than necessary for the purpose it was collected for.

You can access, correct or delete your data, restrict its processing, object to processing and receive your data in a machine-readable file. Send your request to info@nrgea.be with a copy of your identity document; we answer within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels (contact@apd-gba.be).

We secure your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), role-based access control, backups and logging of access to customer files. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we notify you and the Data Protection Authority within 72 hours. We may amend this policy; the date of the last change is shown at the top of this page.
